Indian CPA and Chartered Accountant for Indian-American families and NRIs
If you have ties to India, your U.S. taxes have extra pieces: accounts, investments, property and gifts in two countries. Keshav Agrawal is a U.S. CPA and a Chartered Accountant (CA) from India, and our firm helps families and business owners with both sides, in plain English.
Prepared by Prem Tax and Accounting Corp. Last checked against official sources on October 9, 2026.
A tax expert who understands both countries
Looking for an Indian tax professional or tax consultant in the Chicago area? The biggest U.S. tax mistakes for families with India ties come from things that look simple at home: a savings account in Mumbai, mutual funds in Ahmedabad, a flat that is rented out, money a parent sent. Each can trigger a U.S. filing, and the penalties for missing them are far larger than the tax.
You can talk to us in English, Hindi, Gujarati or Bangla. Forms and IRS letters are in English, so we explain them in the language you are comfortable with.

Common questions
Is an Indian CA the same as a U.S. CPA?
No. A Chartered Accountant (CA) is a qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. A CPA is a license issued by a U.S. state board. They are different credentials from different regulators. Keshav Agrawal holds both, so you get U.S. licensed representation and an understanding of how Indian accounts and income work.
Do you only work with Indian clients?
No. We help individuals, families and business owners of every background. Many of our clients have ties to India, which is why this guide exists.
Do you speak Hindi, Gujarati or Bangla?
Yes. Our office serves clients in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Bangla (Bengali). Just tell us which language you prefer when you contact us. Tax forms and IRS letters are in English, so we explain them to you in the language you are comfortable with.
Can you help me if I live outside Illinois?
Yes. Most clients work with us online through our secure portal, in every state. We meet in person at our Aurora office by appointment.
Can you represent me before the IRS?
Yes. Certified public accountants have unlimited representation rights before the IRS and can represent clients on any matter, including audits, collection and appeals, with a signed power of attorney (Form 2848).
What if I just need a quick answer?
Book a 20-minute call. We will tell you honestly what applies to you and what to do next.
